Question:
How do I enable Health Connect integration from within the ChallengeRunner Android app?
Answer:
You will need to enable and authorize the ChallengeRunner Android app to collect data from Health Connect. The following steps will allow the ChallengeRunner app to pull Steps, Distance, Calories, Active Minutes, and / or Sleep.
  1. Install the ChallengeRunner app on your Android device
  2. Sign in using your Id and Password. If you are currently enrolled in a challenge, you will be able to select the menu from the upper right hand corner of the screen and tap Fitness Trackers and then Health Connect
  3. Click to Enable Health Connect Integration. Optionally, you may choose to allow Health Connect to automatically transmit data to ChallengeRunner once every 4 hours.
  4. A popup may appear stating that: 'Get Started with Health Connect'. Tap the Get Started button.
  5. Select the Allow all option and then click the Allow button
  6. Exit the Settings screen
  7. At this point, the ChallengeRunner app will sync with Health Connect whenever it is opened. As mentioned above, it is also possible to enable automatic syncing; however, due to the fact that your smartphone can shut down apps at will and it relies on Health Connect and possibly other apps syncing data, there are multiple points that would cause data to stop automatically transmitting to ChallengeRunner. Therefore, it is recommended that you verify your data is syncing regularly.
